As the nation begins to prepare for the impending "Elder Boom", improved health outcomes, lower healthcare costs and greater quality of life will become the key issues facing American seniors and their caregivers.
To address these growing concerns, The Alliance for Advancing Senior Health™ was launched in August 2007. Comprised of organizations that have a vested interest in advancing senior health care to improve outcomes, this group is currently establishing a unique value-based initiative – The American System for Advancing Senior Health™ (ASASH™) - a comprehensive outreach effort to forward the Alliance mission.
The Alliance for Advancing Senior Health™ seeks out organizations that have common goals – increasing the visibility of senior health issues and enhancing the public health information infrastructure designed for and available to America's seniors.
Working together, we plan to identify and bring the most relevant, up-to-date health information to seniors and those professionals and family who care for them, so that these patients may realize improved health outcomes.
We are working to form long-term, cooperative agreements with partner organizations, which will leverage the strengths and resources of each. Alliance partners are asked to create awareness of ASASH among their constituents, along with providing content to the ASASH system on an ongoing basis.
